The Town of Bonnyville is a designated community under the Rural Renewal Stream of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP).  

The Rural Renewal Stream offers eligible workers an opportunity to immigrate to the community with the formal support of the Town. The program can be used to attract and retain newcomers and support local employers by filling labour gaps. This will support workforce development by helping employers meet labour demands, expand the skilled workforce, and support community and economic growth.  The Town of Bonnyville Commercial Tax Incentive Program is designed to stimulate new commercial construction and commercial renovation within the Town limits.

The program is intended to provide tax incentives on the improved value of the land in question. The program provides tax relief on the municipal portion of the commercial property tax in the amounts of 100% in year 1, 100% in year 2, 100% in year 3, 75% in year 4 and 50% in year 5. In March, 2024, the Town of Bonnyville completed a commercial gap analysis showing the Town can accommodate an additional 195,000 sq ft of retail space immediately, with an additional 50% possible in the next 10 years. The main growth areas are projected to be the Comparison Sector (including Household Goods, Fashion and General Merchandise Store - 61,000 sq ft), Convenience Sector (Groceries, Food - 54,000 sq ft), and the Food & Beverage Sector (Restaurants and Fast Food - 40,000 sq ft).

The Town of Bonnyville has full water infrastructure services for your business. No well water or hauling needed here. The Town installed new water infrastructure in 2021.
